OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR
Recognised as Australia's most popular alpine destination with more than 700,000 snow lovers making their way up into the clouds each year, Thredbo features a charming alpine village and many of Australia's greatest ski runs. Located in the foothills of Kosciuszko National Park, this world-class snow resort is the ideal place for beginners and experts alike as there's always plenty of snow and interesting terrain to dive straight into. It might seem far away, but Thredbo is actually quite easy to reach from Sydney with this one-day Thredbo adventure providing you with a simple way to experience this fantastic alpine setting.
Join us as we climb aboard our comfortable transport and make a late-night escape from Sydney's sprawling metropolis. Now's your chance to catch a few hours of sleep as we set off towards the picturesque Snowy Mountains. Just as the sun begins to rise, we'll make a short stop at Jindabyne to enjoy a light breakfast of steaming hot coffee and biscuits. We'll also head inside a nearby discount snow gear store and rent some equipment to use on our journey.
Winding our way up the mountainside, we'll soon arrive at the Thredbo alpine resort. Over the next 7.5 hours, you'll have as much free time as you please to ski, snowboard and explore the backcountry, as there's an incredible range of activities that everyone will love. Feel free to hop aboard the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift and ride it to the mountain's lofty summit of 1930-metres or dive into Australia's longest ski run, the Crackenback Supertrail. Don't forget to explore the alpine village as it offers a wealth of fantastic restaurants, bars and boutiques that create a wonderful snow-covered atmosphere.
After a long day of hitting the slopes, it's time to head back to Sydney. Following a 40-minute break for dinner, we'll eventually arrive in the city at approximately 9.45pm. Thredbo is assuredly one of Australia's top winter sports locations – if you want to explore these picturesque slopes, join us on this whirlwind tour that conveniently takes you from Sydney and back home again
