One of the best winter destinations in Victoria is Mount Buller. This ski town comes to life every winter with heaps of visitors and locals enjoying the slopes.

Some people head to Mount Buller just for a day trip. Others prefer to visit the mountain for a few days and really maximise their time in the snow.

Below are five of our recommended Mount Buller Village stays, ranging from budget friendly to luxurious.

  1. Auscamp Alpine Lodge

The Auscamp Alpine Lodge is one of the more budget friendly lodging options on Mount Buller. It is located only an eight minute walk from the centre of the alpine village. Alternatively, you can catch the local free shuttle. Since this alpine lodge isn’t located in the heart of the village, it’s a quiet and cosy place to reset and relax.

There are five different bedrooms to rent out and there is a central area with a dining area and a TV room. You can also dry your snow gear overnight in the drying room.

  1. Benmore Ski Club

The Benmore Ski Club is another affordable lodging option on Mount Buller. If you’re travelling with just one other person, you can book a cosy bunk room for a fraction of the price of other accommodation on the mountain.

This lodge is equipped with a large open fireplace and a welcoming common area that was created to bring travellers together. There is also ski-in ski-out access, allowing you to wake up and immediately hit the slopes!

  1. Breathtaker Hotel and Spa

The Breathtaker Hotel and Spa is a step up in price. Its cost factors in added facilities such as a free breakfast, an indoor pool and a steam room. Each suite includes a kitchenette, but there is also a restaurant on site if you don’t feel like cooking.

You’re in luck with this hotel because it is located just 100 metres from the ABOM Express chairlift. It’s also right next to the Mount Buller Ski School, offering easy access to all the prime attractions on the mountain.

  1. Mount Buller Chalet Hotel and Suites

The Mount Buller Chalet Hotel and Suites is another upscale lodging option for travellers who are not on a strict budget. This hotel is equipped with a spa, sauna and pool, perfect for relaxing when you’re not hitting the slopes.

One of the appeals of this hotel is that it is ski-in and ski-out. This means that you are located right on the mountain and can easily transition between skiing and warming up in your suite.

  1. Chalet Apartments

One of the more expensive but luxurious options is the Chalet Apartment Building. This is the perfect lodging choice if you want to be located in the heart of the alpine village.

Not only will you have easy access to the slopes, but you are also close to everything else. From shops to restaurants and other activities, you can just step out the front door and everything you need is right there!
