Make the most out of your trip and see the best parts of the Blue Mountains in three days.

Spending three days in the Blue Mountains is plenty of time to explore. You can check out surrounding towns, visit Scenic World, go bushwalking, and see breathtaking views from lookouts. The best way to get around the Blue Mountains is by car or using the local bus.

Day one

Start your day travelling from where you are towards the Blue Mountains. If you’re driving from Sydney, you can stop by Featherdale Wildlife Park. It’s one of the best wildlife parks in Sydney and you can meet a koala, get close to quokkas, or feed some kangaroos! You can spend around two hours at the wildlife park.

When you’ve seen your fair share of wildlife, head down to Katoomba, the main Blue Mountains town. We recommend spending the night in this town as there’s plenty to do here! When you arrive you can check out Katoomba Street, which is the main shopping strip with a bit of everything.

Make sure you visit the Blue Mountains Chocolate Company for delicious chocolate and one of the best hot chocolate you’ll try. You can also check out Leura which is a small town nearby with heaps of cafes and great food!

Day two

You can wake up early and watch the sunrise at Echo Point overlooking the Three Sisters or enjoy a lie in. Afterwards, check out Scenic World and go on all three different amazing scenic rides! If you opted to lie in, you can still check out the Three Sisters before or after Scenic World.

Start making your way down to Blackheath, which is a town that is quite close to the highest point of the Blue Mountains! At Blackheath, there’s a nice selection of cafes and great walking tracks such as the Grand Canyon Walk. Check out Govetts Leap lookout too to see tall waterfalls and the Grose Valley canyons!

Day three

After you’ve had a delicious breakfast, we recommend going to the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah. This Botanic Garden is Australia’s highest cool climate garden that sits right in the Blue Mountains and the alpine rainforest.

When you’ve seen the hundreds of different plants at the Botanic Gardens, you can go to Bilpin which is a town that’s known for its apples! It’s best to visit Bilpin anytime between January to June so you can pick your own fruit! Anything from apples (of course) to peaches, strawberries, and heaps more.

Spend as much time as you want in Biplin as that’s the final stop of your three day trip!

Three days in the Blue Mountains is plenty of time to see all the main highlights, as well as see some of the small towns. Let us know what you thought of the Chocolate Company’s hot chocolate!
