If you’re looking for relaxation and rejuvenation close to Melbourne, look no further than the Peninsula Hot Springs.
Set amongst stunning scenery just ninety minutes from the city centre, the day spa offers thermal mineral water pools and private baths for the ultimate idyllic oasis.
Offering a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of Melbourne, the Peninsula Hot Springs is a firm favourite amongst locals and visitors. With a range of facilities to help sooth your ailments you’ll leave feeling like a new person.
Dating back to 1997, the Hot Springs were founded by Charles and Richard Davidson, two brothers who got the inspiration for the retreat after visiting Japan and its many hot springs.
There are two main hot springs at the Peninsula Hot Springs, both of which provide a different kind of experience for different people.
The Bath House
Firstly, there is the Bath House, a social pool perfect for family-friendly bathing.
While there, you can experience and explore 20 different bathing experiences, each of which has been inspired by a different area around the world. There is a cave pool for a quirky experience, as well as a reflexology walk, a traditional Turkish steam bath, and cold plunge pools. Plus, there is a family bathing area, massaging thermal mineral showers, and a pool set on a hilltop that boasts breath-taking 360-degree views around the surrounding scenery.
If the Bath House sounds like the perfect place for you, you best book ahead! The Bath House is extremely popular with visitors and advance booking is recommended, especially during peak periods.
Spa Dreaming Centre
Made especially for guests over the age of sixteen, the Spa Dreaming Centre promises tranquil spaces for the ultimate relaxation experience. There are several communal pools, as well as a few private pools if you’re looking for isolation and peace and quiet.
There are a range of pampering spa treatments designed specially to revitalise the mind, body, and spirit. Treatments include an Australian Aboriginal-inspired full body massage, facial treatments, mud and salt wraps, and healing stone experiences. Just like the Bath House though you better book in advance! If you’s like to indulge in a papering treatment you will need to book ahead, especially during peak periods.
