Things to do in Phillip Island
Phillip Island is situated just off the coast of Melbourne and is home to spectacular wildlife, scenery and experiences.
Thanks to the feat that is modern engineering, the island is easily accessible from the mainland via the San Remo Bridge. The easiest way to get to the island is by car, however there are public coach and ferry services that run each day to assist in getting from the Melbourne CBD to Phillip Island.

Wildlife Wonderland
Famously recognised as the home of the Penguin Parade, Phillip Island has so much more to offer than just the super cute little penguins.
Before watching the penguin parade in the evening, head down to the Nobbies Centre. This fantastic lookout boasts ocean views that go forever. Watch as waves are spat back into the ocean by the natural blowhole and look out across the sea to the Seal Rocks. There lives Australia’s biggest fur seal colony. If you’re lucky you may even see some little penguins resting on the surrounding gardens during the spring.
Humpback and southern right whales can often be seen off the coast of Phillip Island during the colder months as they migrate. Grab a pair of binoculars and jump onto a whale watching cruise to see if you can spot any of these magnificent creatures.
Want to see even more wildlife? Then head to the Koala Sanctuary. Come face-to-face with koalas in their natural habitat and watch as the year’s joeys take their first venture into the real world. Learn about these spunky Aussie animals and how to do your part to help in koala conservation.

Speed around the Grand Prix track
The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit hosts some of the country’s biggest motorcycle races each year. Take some time to visit their historical displays or book on for some adrenaline fuelled fun. Challenge your friends to a go kart race on the to-scale replica circuit or take the fastest drive of your life in a Hot Lap. Those after something a bit slower can race it out indoors on the slot cars, zooming around Australia’s largest GP slot car track.

Sip across the island
Who doesn’t love to sit down for a drink after a day of exploring and activities? Head over to Ocean Reach Brewing and sit down for a locally brewed beer. From humble garage beginnings, the brewery now makes eight varieties of beer that are accompanied by their mantra “made on the island, for the island.” If you prefer wine, then Purple Hen is the place for you. Opened in 2002 the small team produces a variety of award-winning reds and delectable whites. Sit down for a blind tasting and indulge in the fantastic cool climate wines.
