Stare out over the magnificent Blue Mountains, Evans Lookout has incredible views of the surrounding lush forest.
There’s no better place to start your Blue Mountains experience than at the stunning Evans Lookout. With breathtaking views of Grose Valley, sandstone cliffs and mountain peaks, Evans Lookout is one of the key attractions of the Blue Mountains.
Keep your eyes open for stunning native wildlife scurrying across the forest floor and listen out for colourful birdlife chattering in the trees. The lookout point is a vast, flat area, with plenty of space for visitors to enjoy the panoramic surroundings.
The lookout is easily accessed from the nearby car park, gifting visitors incredible views without a long, arduous hike. Evans Lookout is perfect for a quick stop during a long day exploring, or as the starting place for nature lovers looking to explore a range of nearby bushwalks.
From the lookout
From the lookout, there are ample walks for you to take. Weave through the forest to delightful waterfalls, vibrant wild gardens, and along slowly flowing streams. The walks are amazing year-round, however, they’re particularly pleasant during the summer. Leafy trees shade the paths and protect them from the harsh sun, meanwhile sandstone cliffs glow orange under the beaming sun.
Follow the Cliff Top Walking Track from Evans Lookout to Govetts Leap. The walk has some of the most breathtaking views in the whole Blue Mountains. Look out for stunning native birds flittering through the treetops, bright wildflowers blooming throughout the year, and stop at the many lookout points along the way.
Stop at the Barrow Lookout for stunning waterfall views and look for honeyeaters and cockatoos hiding in the trees. The walk is a 6-kilometre round trip and takes approximately 3 hours to complete. The hike is best completed with a packed lunch, so you can enjoy a picnic at one of the many lookouts, and soak in the fresh air.
Follow the Braeside Walk from Govetts Leap, and be led to the Govetts Leap Brook where you can board a vintage steamboat for a joy ride.
