OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR
Explore everything Kangaroo Island has to offer on this two-day tour that takes in the stunning wildlife and beautiful scenery that characterises this part of Australia.
Day 1 (Lunch)
We start the tour in Adelaide aboard the coach and make our way to one of South Australia’s most iconic locations. Enjoy the scenery along the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula as we make our way to Kangaroo Island. Once we reach Cape Jervis, we board the ferry and enjoy a relaxing cruise across the Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw. Upon arrival our tour guide will introduce themselves, ready to show you Kangaroo Island.
Our first stop is to the home of a rare colony of Australian Sea Lions at Seal Bay. This colony of endangered sea lions is the third-largest in Australia and you can walk amongst them with a local ranger as they laze about on the sand. After you have learnt all about the seals from your expert guide and have taken ample photos, we’ll head to refuel with a delicious 2-course lunch.
After lunch, we head to Flinders Chase National Park on the western edge of the island. The area is already bouncing back from the terrible bushfires of 2020 and all around you can observe life coming back to this important habitat on Kangaroo Island. Keep an eye out for wallabies and other wildlife as we make our way around the park, stopping in at Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch for some amazing photos of the rugged coastline.
Our final stop on day one is the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, where you can meet some sleepy koalas, get close to some kangaroos and meet other iconic native Australian wildlife. As the day comes to an end, we’ll drop you at your private accommodation to rest up for another day of exploring KI!
Day 2 (Breakfast & Lunch)
After a delicious buffet breakfast at your hotel, we will meet up for our first stop of day two - the Raptor Domain. This rescue and rehabilitation centre for Australian birds of prey offers you the chance to admire wedge-tailed eagles, sea eagles, kookaburras and different owls all up close and in action. Be amazed during a 'Birds of Prey' display and see these magnificent Australian raptors in action.
Next up we make our way to the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. Learn about the process of making eucalyptus oil and other products before enjoying another appetising 2-course lunch. Save some room for dessert as we head to Clifford’s Honey Farm after lunch for a guided tour of their honey room and a chance to sample some of their unique honey-based products.
In the afternoon we stop at Pennington Bay for some photos of this spectacular sandy beach, before enjoying a wine tasting at local winery False Cape Wines. As the day comes to end, enjoy some dinner at the Penneshaw Hotel (own expense) before jumping on the ferry back to Adelaide.
