Port Douglas
Port Douglas is a beautiful tropical town, and it is slightly more affordable to travel to and stay at. Port Douglas is perfect if you want to relax or even go and spend a day exploring. The Four Mile Beach is one of the popular beaches in Port Douglas where you can watch a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Or if you want more of an adventure you can go sailing in the afternoon!
There are cute local stores you can shop and buy some goodies or you can go to the markets. When it reaches dinner time, there are amazing restaurants in Port Douglas that you can try. Port Douglas has delicious seafood you can try at a range of local restaurants, it’ll be a meal you won’t forget!
Cairns
Cairns is one of the best cities to go see the Great Barrier Reef. There is a tonne of tours that leave Cairns and go out exploring a few of the nearby reefs. If you’re wanting to go see the Great Barrier Reef, book a tour and try snorkelling, diving, or you can go on the glass bottom boat!
Cairns is also perfect for day trips such as Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, and Atherton Tablelands. Atherton Tablelands has volcanic landscapes, beautiful rainforests, and giant waterfalls.
Or walk through the lush Daintree Rainforest which is one of the oldest rainforests in the world, being 180 million years old! You can do some walks throughout the rainforest and even go on the Daintree River Cruise. When you’re at Daintree, you can visit Cape Tribulation which has the most gorgeous paradise beach. Cape Tribulation is a magical place as it’s where Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef meet.
