Mount Buller is a scenic mountain located to the east of Melbourne. It will take around three hours to drive to Mount Buller from the city centre. Because of this, you may want to get an early start so you have plenty of time in the snow!

Mount Buller is a great place to play in the snow, try skiing and snowboarding, or just wander around. Whether you are into winter sports or not, there are heaps of activities to enjoy.

Ski and Snowboard

One of the main activities to do on Mount Buller is to go skiing or snowboarding. You can bring your own gear or hire some from one of the many retail outlets on the mountain. If you aren’t experienced in these snow sports, you can book a beginner lesson before hitting the slopes.

There are heaps of runs to choose from depending on your skill level. The beginner runs are colour coded green, the intermediate ones are colour coded blue, and the advanced runs are colour coded black.

Ride a toboggan

There are two areas on Mount Buller that are dedicated to tobogganing. You can purchase a toboggan pass, which includes a toboggan hire. Once you arrive at the resort, you’ll be ready for an exhilarating ride down the snowy hill.

Enjoy snow play

There is plenty of opportunity for snow play on Mount Buller. If you don’t want to partake in any specific snow activities, feel free to build a snowman, make a snow angel, or go for a snowy hike.

The National Alpine Museum of Australia covers over 150 years of history. There are thousands of items in the museum, each part of unique collections and stories. If you plan to visit the museum, be sure to check out what exhibitions and events are on when you’re there.

Whether you’re looking to rent some snow gear or buy something, there are a range of shops to check out on Mount Buller. There are a couple of stores that double as a café, a boutique, and more!

There is a range of food on offer at Mount Buller. Sip on a latte at the Coffee Garage, snack on a pie at Little Villager, or grab a pint at Enzian Hotel. Whatever food or drink you may be craving, you’re sure to find it on Mount Buller.

If you want your transportation taken care of, join a Mount Buller snow tour. This Mount Buller tour takes you into the gorgeous mountains and allows up to five hours of snow play.
