OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR
Enjoy a trip through Sydney’s colonial past on a tour of the Rocks and Botany Bay before a delicious dinner at the Sydney Tower Restaurant.
Start your exploration of Sydney aboard the MV Sydney with a 2-course Top Deck lunch cruise. You'll sail past many of Sydney's best-known landmarks, parklands and mansions, taking in the fabulous views as you savour the delectable lunch.
Next up it's a trip into Sydney's colonial past with a walking tour through one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods – the Rocks. Situated at the very base of the Harbour Bridge, the area was home to the indigenous Cadigal people before European settlers claimed the land in 1788. Your engaging guide will lead you through the impressive historical buildings, illustrating the colourful history through stories of the local area and its people. Learn how this area has gone from unsafe slum to the lively and popular spot it is now, brimming with boutique stores, art galleries and world-class restaurants.
From the Rocks, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, one of the largest steel arch bridges in the world. Designed in 1924 to connect the northern and southern shores of this growing city, the Harbour Bridge opened in 1932 and is one of the city’s most well-known and photographed icons.
With the walking tour completed, we head to Botany Bay to learn more about life in Australia before European settlers and how it changed with the arrival of the First Fleet. Botany Bay was originally where the British planned to establish the new colony in Australia, but the crew of the First Fleet found it unsuitable and moved to Sydney Cove shortly after they arrived. We visit La Perouse to explore the historical buildings including the Bare Island Fort, built in 1880.
Once your city sights tour is completed, your driver guide will drop you off for your dinner reservation at approximately 6:15pm. Enjoy a memorable evening at the Sydney Tower Restaurant, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner while revolving around the magnificent night light views of one of the world's most picturesque cities. Dinner starts at 6:30pm and concludes at 7:30pm. At the conclusion of dinner, you are free to make own way back to your hotel at leisure. Due to renovations, between 2nd March and 31st July, travellers will enjoy a 3-course meal at Esquire instead.
