OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR
Join us on this morning half-day tour of the highlights of Sydney including an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House.
We’ll start the morning with a panoramic bus tour of Sydney, admiring some of the city’s best-known historical landmarks including Parliament House, St Marys Cathedral and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Then get your camera ready to capture the stunning views at our first stop for the morning at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. This stone bench, hand-carved by convicts in 1810, offers wonderful views of Sydney Harbour and was a favourite spot of Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of a former New South Wales’ Governor. You won’t find it hard to see why when you take a seat under the shade of the Moreton Bay fig trees and admire the spectacular views over the water.
Next, we head east to the world-famous Bondi Beach for a mid-morning break. Feel the sand between your toes, paddle your feet in the water of the Pacific Ocean and witness the iconic surf lifesavers at work on one of Australia’s busiest beaches. If you prefer to stay dry, grab a coffee or browse amongst the trendy boutiques that line the foreshore before we head back to the city.
The day culminates with a tour of one of Australia’s most recognisable attractions - The Sydney Opera House. Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon and opened in 1973, The Sydney Opera House brings together a range of creativity and innovation in its unusual, yet effective design. The UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts more than 1.2 million spectators at 1500 concerts a year across a spectrum of performance genres. Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of this cultural icon of Australia to visit areas usually off-limits to the general public.
